I’ve made another game for Pirate Kart II! I decided to combine Heavy Rain and Brain Training, to make the best game for adults EVER! This came together pretty quickly, and it was fun to make!

I just threw together a terrible game for The 371-in-1 Klik & Play Pirate Kart II! It’s rubbish and stupid and fun (perhaps)! It was fun to try out some new methods, and see if I could make a game super quickly.

This week I decided that I should use my fridays as a time to work on fun projects. Be they prototypes, or just trying out new techniques, I wanted to have some regular time for working on things without pressure. Today is my first friday such as this, and I decided to get my hands dirty with 3D modelling and animation, which I haven’t been doing as much of recently. It’s a great relief to be able to get something up and running fairly quickly.
As for the chef character? Well, I had a rough game idea for him, so I might play around with that next Friday, but maybe not!
I have booked my flight to San Francisco, so I’ll be in America in less than four weeks time! Thank-you to everyone that helped out, it made the world of difference, and I wouldn’t have been able to attend without your help. I’ll be attending IGF and GDC, so I hope to meet lots of people there!

I finally upgraded my operating systems! I’ve had these for a while, but I’ve been holding off on installing until Apple did proper Windows 7 support, and I wasn’t at a critical point in a project. I reformatted my iMac and I’m slowly putting things back on it. It feels good to have a working Windows setup again, and I’m going to play some games on Steam tonight to celebrate. I almost never play PC games, so this should be interesting.
Some sad news, I’m no longer working on Minecraft. Markus and I have have been working together on this, but it just wasn’t coming together. I kept on running into technical problems with the export process, and Markus wasn’t used to having to wait for art assets. Markus is going to be doing the artwork on his own now. I’m still excited to see where Minecraft goes, and I know Markus will do a great job with it.
I’m settling into my new projects now, and next week will be busy-busy as I get prototypes going, and work on artwork too. I hope to announce my next project within the next couple of weeks, so watch this space.
I’m still accepting donations to help send me to IGF next month! Please help out if you can. Thank-you to everyone that has donated so far – it’s looking promising that I’ll be able to go!
I think tonight I might play Dragon Age Origins. Markus seems to recommend it, and I’ve never played a Bioware game before. I’m a bit scared of the art and stats and menus, but I should push through it.
This is traditionally the view I have when I start my working day, but once in a while I like to do an informal detox. This month I’m not going to have any coffee, tea, soda or alcohol. I don’t care about the caffeine that’s in orange juice or air or whatever, I just wont be having any of these drinks until March.
My fund raising for San Francisco is going a little slowly, but there is still a week or so left until I need to make a decision. I’m still accepting donations, and I’m grateful to everyone that donated so far.
Also, today is the last day of the Tumbledrop Sale, it’ll go back to full price tonight.
I’ve been working on Minecraft a lot recently, and my efforts are being heavily thwarted by the MD3 format and the weird exporters for it. Unfortunately, I can’t think of any good alternatives to the format that don’t use bones.
Okay, time to start work! I’ll pour myself a mug of fresh, um… water, I guess!
